We are thankful for so many things....

We asked our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students, your children, to write why they are thankful.  Thoughts could include for being Jewish, a member of Congregation Simchat HaLev or a student in our Hebrew School.    Here are some of their responses…

I am thankful for G-D and everybody that is in Simchat HaLev. – Matthew F, 3rd grade


I like Simchat HaLev because Fortuna is so nice and Rabi Jay is such a good Rabbi.  I like being Jewish because I like learning all the different letters and words.  I also like to think that one day I will be able to read from the Torah. – Sydney F, 3rd grade

 

I am thankful because we get to spend time with friends and learn Hebrew. – Ashley H, 3rd grade

 

I like being Jewish for all the nice holidays, and the different foods. – Spencer M, 3rd grade

 

I am thankful for being in Hebrew school because of the cool kipas, the food and learning Hebrew. – Corey R, 3rd grade

 

I am thankful for being Jewish because of Chanukah, Sukkot and Rosh Hashanah and all the other holidays.  I love going to Simchat HaLev for Jewish school.

I am thankful for being a member of Simchat HaLev and a student of this Hebrew school because the people here make everything here fun and easier. – Scott, 3rd grade

I am thankful to be Jewish because it is fun celebrating the holidays and learning a new language.  I like Simchat Halev because Rabbi Jay makes everything fun and we get challah, and we can hold the Torah.  I am thankful to be Jewish because of the forefathers/mothers: Abraham, Jacob, Issac, Rebecca, Sarah, Leah, and Rachel.

I am thankful for being a Jew because I can celebrate the holidays with my family.  I am thankful for my temple because I can do lots of prayers and my Rabbi makes it fun.  I am thankful for my teacher because she teaches me new Hebrew words. – Jake L, 3rd grade

I am thankful because Hebrew School get you ready for your Bar or Bat Mitzvah.  I am thankful for being Jewish because I get to celebrate the holidays and practice the religion.  I am thankful for being a member of Simchat HaLev because I get to go to services and learn about G-D.  I am also thankful for Jenn, Lisa, Fortuna and Rabbi Jay. – Kyle B, 5th grade

 

I am thankful for the phenomenal holidays.  I am thankful for being a member of Simchat HaLev because the services are enjoyable.  I am thankful for Hebrew School because it will pay off when I become a Bar Mitzvah. – Maxwell H, 5th grade

 

I am thankful to be Jewish because I get to practice it freely.  I think it is great to be a member of Simchat HaLev. I am thankful to be a member of Simchat HaLev because it gives me a chance to learn about being Jewish.  I can become a Bat Mitzvah, and do a mitzvah for charity.  I am happy to come to Simchat HaLev because I get to see Jenn and she is a great inspiration. I am thankful for my Hebrew school because Jenn, Rabbi Jay and Lisa teach me every Tuesday.  They teach us Hebrew and teach us stories about those that came before us. – Adam B, 5th grade
